While the series is entitled the Bailey Flanigan Series, the book keeps you hopping from the life of Bailey Flanigan to Cody Coleman as well as Brandon Paul, Dayne Matthews, Landon and Ashley and other characters from her previous series. The story lines were hard for me to keep straight and truly care about the characters since I haven't read any of the previous series beyond the Redemption series and the first two in the Firstborn series. While I appreciatethe spiritual aspects Kingsbury brings to her stories, I find some of the story lines pretty far fetched. I had a hard time jumping from story line to story line and would have much preferred to read about about Bailey Flanigan and her family (with several brothers, a couple of love interests, broadway auditions, and a movie opening she seemed to have enough going to keep the story line moving.)If you have read all of her other books, you will probably enjoy Leaving. If you haven't, you might want to consider reading the first four series (Redemption--; Firstborn; Sunrise; and Above the Line) before jumping into the Bailey Flanigan Series.
While I have not read many of her recent releases I do find Karen Kingsbury's life fascinating and appreciate her heart for adoption. Not only is she passionate about adoption, but has put her money and time and resources wehre her heart is and adopted 3 boys from Haiti. As an adopted child myself, I hold a special respect for those who adopt children in need. For more information on Karen Kingsbury, her many books, and who she is personally, click here.
Just another thought from the tub,
Lori

Beings that you and I haven't read much Karen Kingsbury in the last few years, I was curious how you'd like these books. I still prefer her earlier Christian fiction better. You did a nice job on the review.
Just to try to help. I wanted you to know that I couldn't comment on your other blog either. I heard that people with comment boxes on the post page are having trouble getting comments. The 'pop out' box comments seem to work. Yours is in the page. Are the ones you are trying 'in the page' also?
Maybe you could switch yours? Or check under google help typing that inquiry in? If I notice you change to a pop out, I will try again.
Don't you just love/hate technology?
Thanks for the tip Pam. I've switched all my blogs over to pop-up boxes. We'll see if that helps. Now that you mention it, the ones I couldn't comment on were in the post comments. Weird that that would be a problem, but it seems to be happening to a lot of people. we'll see how this goes!
